Jill Alexander is a Canadian artist and instructor whose work explores the beauty of landscapes across all seasons, as well as expressive, Art Nouveau–inspired abstractions. Working primarily in acrylic, she combines both brushwork and palette knife techniques, often incorporating textured mediums to create depth and movement within her paintings.
Her subject matter shifts with the rhythm of the seasons—from vibrant florals in spring and summer to evolving landscapes throughout the year—while her abstract work is recognized for its distinctive, flowing, swirled forms.
Jill’s work has been widely recognized. She has created artwork for the Canadian Tulip Festival, where she presented pieces to the U.S. Ambassador and the Admiral of the Canadian Navy. She has also served as the official artist for the Ottawa 67’s hockey team and completed commissioned work for CUPE National, CUPE Ottawa, and CUPE Saskatchewan. In addition, she has been a juried artist with the City of Ottawa Galleries.
A graduate with honours from a Graphic Design program in 2019, Jill brings both technical skill and creative intuition to her work. As an instructor (a personal creative cheerleader), she is passionate about helping others discover their artistic abilities—especially those who have been told and believe they “can’t” create—encouraging confidence, exploration, and a genuine love of painting.
